Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza

Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza

One of the aims of the International Museum of Ceramics is to gather and document everything to do with ceramics, its history, characters and techniques.  Thanks to its continued relationship with collectors, artists, artisans, public and private cultural organisations and industry, the Museum has increased its collections over the years thanks largely to donations.  The Museum also houses a library which has continued to add to the heritage and documentary material.  A fundamental aid for scholars was the creation of the Photographic Archive of Ceramics in 1927, which Ballardini wanted as a particular instrument of iconographic documentation of the works conserved in the public and private collections from all over the world.  The Museum continues to preserve these materials improving the means of conservation and computerizing the list of works.  The catalogue of works conserved and the catalogue of library heritage are both available to be consulted.
