Inside the wide cavetto is the figure of Judah, King of the Maccabees, probably taken form a Northern European woodcut; the King is shown on horseback amidst flowering stems; below is a scroll bearing the inscription "I(o) SO(no).LORE.IVDA. MACHABEO.CRVDELE" in capital letters: on the rim there are altrenating semi-corollas of discs and lozenges each containing a flower.
