Sunday 10 February

The MIC in Faenza is active in a great new three-year project funded by the European Union, the CER-DEE - Creative entrepreneurship in ceramic regions - developing, educating encouraging.

The lead partner is the Porzellanikon of Selb in Germany which, following the philosophy of the INTERREG Central Europe programme, shares the project actions equally with the other partners: MIC Faenza, Ceramic Museum in Boleslawiec - Poland, - New Design University Pölten - Austria, National Museum of Slovenia, Technical University in Ilmenau - Germany, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen - Czech Republic and the Tourist centre in Kranj - Slovenia.

A fundamental network of cooperation between the main historical European ceramic districts, in order to share museum knowledge, small/medium enterprises and institutes experiences, to face with new and powerful energy the future of ceramic production. At the same time, the projects aims to stimulate new creativity and offer support for the creation of new ceramic companies. An essential project in a period dominated by the global competition. The main objectives, "developing, educating encouraging", dictate the line of action, merging the activities of European partners, already deeply involved in the development of ceramics at all levels.

The MIC of Faenza operates mainly in the field of training, thanks also to the collaboration of other local authorities such as the ISIA of Faenza, Confartigianato, CAF CNA, Contamination Lab, in collaboration, as usual, with the Municipality of Faenza.

All the activities dedicated to design, craftsmanship and ceramic art, organized together with the European partners, in particular the Future Lights Competition, Argillà Italia and the Faenza Prize, will be put on the net, converging, at the end of the project, in a common European portal.

The International Ceramics Museum avails itself of the collaboration of 4 institutional partners: Isia Faenza, Contamination Lab, Confartigianato and CNA.
