Deepening

In 1906 the Chini brothers, Galileo and Chino, founded the “Fornaci San Lorenzo” factory in Borgo San Lorenzo. Under the artistic direction of Galileo, versatile artist and sublime ceramist, the production is characterized by a high quality level with decorative themes inspired by the refined elegance of the Liberty style. Following Galileo’s stay in Siam, called in 1911 by King Rama V to decorate the interior of the new throne palace in Bangkok, the decorative repertoire of the manufactory opened up to the enchanting oriental world, embellished, as in this case, by the application of metallic lustres.
