Deepening

Starting from the second half of the twentieth century, the production of tiles experienced an unparalleled development. Since the Sixties, great artists, designers and stylists have lent their ideas to ceramic companies to design tiles, which were then produced industrially. The tile thus became an ideal support both for innovative technical and decorative research and for allowing artists to confront a form of contemporary expression. The success of the production of coverings was possible thanks to the main capacity of the tile: to combine the functional aspect with the decorative one.
