CER-DEE – Creative entrepreneurship in ceramic regions – developing

The MIC of Faenza is involved as a partner in a new three-year project funded by the European Union, the CER-DEE – Creative entrepreneurship in ceramic regions – developing.

Lead partner of the project is Porzellanikon in Selb, Germany, together with other six European partners (Ceramic Museum in Boleslawiec – Poland, – New Design University Pölten – Austria, National Museum of Slovenia, Technical University in Ilmenau – Germany, University of West Boemia in Pilsen – Czech republic and the Tourist centre in Kranj – Slovenia). Allthe partners aim to create a network of cooperation between the main historical ceramic districts in Europe in order to bring together knowledge from museums, small/medium-sized enterprises and institutes in the sector. A necessary collaboration to face the global competition that is putting the sector under pressure.

Three main goals:

  • unifying regional activities into a set of European practices by mapping proposals and potential economic developments
  • developing European training protocols to support creative forces
  • develop marketing and cooperation strategies.

The MIC of Faenza is mainly involved in the training part thanks also to the collaboration of other local bodies such as the ISIA of Faenza, Confartigianato, CAF CNA, Contamination Lab and in cooperation, as usual, with the Municipality of Faenza.

All the activities will be networked with the events dedicated to design, craftsmanship and art organised together with the European partners, in particular the Future Lights Competition, Argillà and the Faenza Prize.
