The “Rounded wall plate painted with poly-lobed leaf and stylized graphemes imitating Chinese writing,” Iran, from the second half of the sec. XVII, belonging to our collection and exhibited in the Islamic section is being transferred, from Oct. 5, 2023 to Feb. 25, 2024, to the exhibition “Trad u/i/iations of Eurasia” at MAO, Museum of Oriental Art in Turin.
The exhibition explores the concepts of translation, transposition and cultural interpretation by unfolding through a selection of objects from West, Central and East Asia that allow us to question phenomena such as material and immaterial circulation, the ways in which meaning is transformed and fruition occurred between Asia and Europe over two thousand years of history.
